Ah, the futility of 

     hard boiled eggs 

No matter what tips or tricks

     Salt

     Baking soda while boiling

     Ice for later

The peeled egg looks like

     A lumpy dimpled blob

     Like I didn’t even try in the first place.

But I know I did.

So I keep on keeping on 

And enjoy the egg salad 

     And am simply grateful for 

     The nourishment

     And the simple joy of stubbornness.
